Terms of service

Last updated 3 September 2026.

Plain terms for a small service. Using Media I/O means accepting them.

What this service does

You give it a video you recorded. It removes silence and false starts, burns captions into the picture, crops the frame to 9:16, and gives the clip back to you. If you connect a TikTok account, it can also post a clip you have approved to that account.

Your content stays yours

You keep every right you had in what you upload. Media I/O claims no ownership and takes no licence beyond the one it needs to do the job you asked for: storing your file, processing it into a clip, and delivering that clip to you or — on your instruction — to TikTok. Your video is not sold, not licensed to anyone, not used for advertising, and not used to train models.

Posting

Nothing is posted anywhere unless you choose the destination, the caption and the privacy level on the review screen and press the button yourself. There is no automatic publishing.

What you may upload

Only footage you have the right to use. Do not upload content that infringes somebody else's rights, that breaks the rules of the platform you intend to post to, or that is unlawful. You are responsible for what you upload and for what you publish with it.

Accounts used to upload unlawful or infringing material may be blocked, and the material removed, without notice.

Accounts and access

You may use the service without an account, or by signing in with TikTok. Keep your TikTok credentials to yourself; anyone with access to your session can post as you. You can end a session at any time by signing out, and revoke the connection entirely from TikTok's own app-permissions screen.

Limits

This is a small service running on one machine. Daily caps apply per person and across the service as a whole, files are capped at 500 MB, and the service may be slow or unavailable. The current numbers are published on the pricing page and may change.

Retention

Uploaded videos and finished clips are deleted thirty days after they are created. Download anything you want to keep. See the privacy policy for the rest.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, overload or circumvent the service, its limits or its security, and do not use it to impersonate somebody else. Access may be withdrawn if you do.

No warranty

The service is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. It may lose a clip, render one badly, or be unavailable when you need it. To the extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for any loss arising from using it. Keep your own copy of anything that matters.

Changes

These terms may change; the date at the top says when they last did. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it.
